Preschool

Main Idea: God created the world.

Summary
  • In the beginning, God made the world. He said, "Let there be light," and there was light! He called the light "day" and the darkness "night."
  • God spoke and made the sky. He made the land, the trees, and the plants. God made the sun, moon, and stars.
  • God made fish to swim in the water and birds to fly in the sky. God made all the animals that live on land. God saw that everything He made was good.
  • Finally, God made people. He made a man named Adam and a woman named Eve. They lived in a beautiful garden. God loved them and took care of them.

Kids

Main Idea: God created the world.

Summary
  • In the beginning, the earth was formless and empty. God created everything through His word.
  • God made light and darkness, earth and sky, seas and dry land, the sun, moon, and stars, sea creatures and birds, and livestock and wildlife. It was all good.
  • God created people in His image. It was very good.
  • On the seventh day, God rested.

Review Questions
  1. How are humans unique from the rest of creation?
  2. Which of God’s characteristics do we see in creation?

Students

Main Idea: Our good Creator wants a relationship with us.

Summary
God created the universe, and everything He created reveals His glory. Jesus, the Word and Son of God, is the perfect representation of God’s glory. Jesus came to restore all of creation back to God’s original design.
