Sermon: Walking with God
Scripture
Habakkuk 3:17-19 - Though the fig tree does not bud and there is no fruit on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though the flocks disappear from the pen and there are no herds in the stalls, yet I will celebrate in the Lord; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation! The Lord my Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like those of a deer and enables me to walk on mountain heights!
Summary
Today, we finished our series, When God Doesn’t. The first week, Habakkuk was wondering. The second week, he was waiting. God responded to both of these complaints in a way that leads us to look deeper into who God is and empowers us to trust Him more.
Even through suffering and loss, Habakkuk has learned that he can trust God, and with that trust comes great joy—not in different or better circumstances but in who God is, what He offers now, and what He promises in future.
This week, Habakkuk is worshiping. The question being asked today is, What am I going to do? Pastor Brian pointed out several responses that move us into the act of worship.
Habakkuk looks at the reality of the situation, but He knows God is good, God is working, and God is trustworthy. What am I going to do? Victory comes by wrestling, waiting, and worshiping God as we remember, repeat, request, and rejoice in who He is.

- Remember - God is faithful
- Repeat - God will see me through this
- Request - God to revive you and make Himself known through you
- Rejoice - God is faithful, merciful, and the strength that sustains you and the One who saves you!

Discussion
- Share what stood out to you most from this series.
- How has God challenged and encouraged you?
- Share a time you remember of God’s faithfulness in your life.
- How does this encourage your faith today and going forward?
- How can you repeat this memory to yourself?
- Find a creative or meaningful way you can remember and repeat God’s faithfulness and “stand in awe of His deeds” as you learn to trust Him more.
- What would it look like in your walk with God to request His revival in you and for Him to make himself known through you, given the trail you face?
- How does this alter how you pray? How does this alter how you worship?
Pray Together
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for all You are, all You have done, and all You are going to do. We don't have to wonder in our waiting, but instead, we can worship while we wait. I ask that You remind us of Your faithfulness, Your mercy, Your strength, and Your commitment to Your glory in our lives. We commit to surrender to You so we can direct people to You. As you make yourself known through our worship in the waiting, we pray for our strength and Your glory. Revive us, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
