Main Idea: God will always accomplish His will for His glory (Genesis 11)
Summary
Everyone knows the phrase, “Pride comes before the fall.” In the account of the Tower of Babel, the people were trying to build a monument to their own greatness. God humbled them by doing something so simple as mixing up their languages. The people cared more about their own success and independence than obeying God. Our society still struggles with the same problem. Pride forces us to rely on our own strength. Our strength is not enough. We were designed to rely on God and God alone.
Christ Connection
God confused the languages of humanity to scatter the people over the face of the earth. But through the gospel of Jesus Christ, God saves people from every tribe, tongue, and nation to form one people united in Christ forever. (Revelation 7:9-19)
