Main Idea: The testing of our faith will require sacrifice. (Genesis 21:1-2; 22)
Summary
God tested Abraham’s faith by asking him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. Even in Abraham’s old age, he still trusted God would deliver on His promise in some way. Regardless of how God chose to work it out, Abraham trusted God. God tests us because He loves us and wants to reveal more of His character to us. He also tests us because He wants you to be able to face sickness, death, heartache, persecution, and loss with full assurance of His faithfulness… whether things work out the way we want to or not, God is always faithful.
