Sermon: Foundations of the Home
Scripture
Matthew 7:24-27 – “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. It collapsed with a great crash.”
Summary
In today's message, Pastor Steven focused on building a Christ-centered home through discipleship, emphasizing that we must first be disciples ourselves before we can hope to lead our families. We are all discipling others through our actions and choices, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
Key Points:
1. You must BE a disciple before you can disciple others
2. You must DESIRE to be a disciple
3. To GROW as a disciple: Reflect and Pursue

Pray Together
God, Thank You for Your perfect love and for making a way for us to know You through Jesus. Thank You for the gift of family and the opportunity to grow together in faith. We ask that You help us build our lives on the solid foundation of Your truth. Give us wisdom to be intentional disciples who point others to You through both our words and actions. We commit ourselves to pursuing You more deeply. Help us to reflect on Your goodness daily and to make choices that honor You. Guide us as we seek to build homes centered on Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
OPTIONAL Family Activity: Faith Foundation Fort
Build a "Faith Foundation" fort together! Use pillows, blankets, and furniture to create two small forts - one with a solid base (like the floor or a table) and one with a shakier foundation (like balanced on couch cushions). Talk about how our faith needs a strong foundation while testing which fort is more stable. End by reading Matthew 7:24-27 together.
