Jesus had already told his followers that he would soon be killed, but he had no intention of slowing down his ministry. In the book of Mark we see that the day following his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Jesus went to the temple to worship, and there he found that his Father's house was turned into a house of greed. In the span of a few minutes, Jesus took down the traditions of greed that had been allowed in the temple, invited in the sick and downcast, performed miracles, and encouraged the praise of children, and still the religious men rejected his power.
