On Friday, Jesus displayed the greatest faithfulness the world has ever known when he died a most painful death on the cross. He endured shame, betrayal, and torture and extended love and forgiveness toward sinners and his betrayers. Even as he hung on the cross, people continued to reject who he was and the purpose behind his sacrificial death. At his final breath, his betrayers celebrated as his followers mourned.
